Dusty Baker addressed the media after his Houston Astros lost their second straight game. The manager did not discount anything the Braves did, but he knows fully well this series is not over.

Baker made it clear he has confidence in his team by saying: “We’ve had our backs against the wall before.”

He, much like his players, always believes they will come out on top. Dusty cited their previous comebacks when he stated that you have to “lean on your past.”

As for their Game 4 loss, Baker pointed to missed opportunities. They left 11 runners on base. The Braves were on the ropes early in the game, but the Astros were not able to knock them out. Braves’ pitching continuously got out of jams and held their deficit in check.

The turning point in the game was when the Braves hit back-to-back home runs in the 7th inning. This came after the Astros got a rare quality start from their starting pitcher. The skipper had high praise for Zack Greinke. Zack performed much better than he had this postseason and even got a hit at the plate. Baker pointed to his ability to induce the double-play ball as a key factor to get through more innings.

Hitting, or lack of hitting, was also discussed. Dusty admitted he had thought about it when asked about moving the struggling Alex Bregman down in the lineup. Of course, Baker would not reveal his cards right then and there. Baker hinted he would possibly tinker with the lineup. Houston will be taking this series one game at a time in hopes of extending the series back to Houston.
